This Privacy Policy explains how CleanSnap ("the App", "we", "our") processes data when you use the App. CleanSnap is developed by an independent individual developer based in Sweden ("the Developer"). This policy applies to all users worldwide.
CleanSnap provides photo/video scanning, AI photo enhancement, contact and calendar cleanup features. The App uses anonymous, device-based authentication and does not require any personal information to function.
By using CleanSnap, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
CleanSnap does not collect or store:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Location data
- Personal identifiers
The App uses anonymous authentication via a randomly generated Device ID (UUID). This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.
2. Information the App Processes Locally
CleanSnap processes the following data entirely on your device:
2.1. Photos and Videos
- All photo/video scanning (blur detection, duplicate detection, content classification) happens on-device using Apple's Vision framework
- Your photos and videos are never uploaded to any server unless you explicitly request AI Enhancement (see Section 3)
- Scan results are cached locally and removed when you uninstall the App
2.2. Contacts
- Contact data is analyzed on-device to find duplicates and missing information
- Contact data is never transmitted to any server
2.3. Calendar
- Calendar events are analyzed on-device to identify past events for cleanup
- Calendar data is never transmitted to any server
3. Third-Party Services
CleanSnap uses trusted third-party services for specific features. These services process only what is required.
3.1. Firebase (Google)
- Anonymous authentication and cloud database for storing credit balance and subscription status
- Temporary image storage for AI Enhancement (images deleted after processing)
- Push notifications (only with your permission)
3.2. fal.ai (AI Photo Enhancement)
- When you request AI Enhancement, the selected image is temporarily uploaded and processed
- Only the specific image you select is sent — never your entire library
- Images are deleted from servers after processing is complete
3.3. OpenAI (AI Assistant)
- Text messages in the AI Assistant are sent to OpenAI for processing
- No images, photos, or media are sent to OpenAI
3.4. RevenueCat
- Used for subscription and in-app purchase management
- Only anonymous Device ID and purchase transactions are shared
3.5. Google AdMob
- Advertisements are shown to free-tier users only
- Pro subscribers see no ads
- We do not share your personal data or content with advertisers
4. Data Stored in Our Backend
The following anonymous data is stored in Firebase, associated with your Device ID:
- Credit balance and subscription status
- Enhancement history (type, status, timestamp — not the images)
- AI Assistant conversation text
- Push notification token (if permission granted)
No personally identifiable information is stored. Firebase Analytics is explicitly disabled.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
- All payments are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store
- Apple manages billing, refunds, and purchase history
- RevenueCat is used for entitlement management; no personal identifiers are shared
- The Developer does not process or store any financial data
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, in compliance with COPPA and GDPR.
Since no personal data is collected, there is minimal risk. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us.
7. GDPR (EU/EEA Users)
Under the GDPR, users have rights including access, deletion, and portability. Since CleanSnap stores no personally identifiable data, these rights are largely fulfilled by uninstalling the App.
To request deletion of your anonymous backend data (credits, enhancement history), contact us at cleansnap@outlook.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
8. CCPA (California Users)
We do not sell your personal information. California residents may request details about collected data or request deletion by contacting us. Since we collect no personally identifiable information, these rights are inherently fulfilled.
9. Data Retention
- Enhancement images are deleted immediately after processing
- Backend data (credits, history) is retained while you use the App
- You may request full data deletion at any time — completed within 30 days
- Local data is removed when you uninstall the App
10. Security
We use anonymous authentication, HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, Firebase Security Rules to restrict data access, and iOS Keychain for secure local storage. While no system is 100% secure, we implement industry-standard protections.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
